OUR FOSTER CARE TRAINING OPTIONS
Foster carers need to understand a wide range of childcare subject areas in order to be able to promote good practice and our comprehensive training is designed to support that. Our provision is split into Induction, Specialist and Management training and is particular suited to foster carers as well as workers within the foster service and panel members. Men in Foster Care
The course will give learners an opportunity to look at the many facets of being a male carer, from being a positive role model to identifying the areas where men have something different to offer. The course will also look at the fears and worries that are sometimes present for men who foster and will give learners an opportunity to think about and discuss these issues.

Paediatric Emergency First Aid
A basic 1 day / 6 hour course that specialises in first aid for under 8s. Recommended for all who work with under 8s.

Safeguarding and Domestic Violence
Domestic violence is widespread and is clearly recognised as having profound effects on children and young people who experience it. In many ways witnessing domestic violence can be as traumatic and damaging as direct physical or sexual abuse. Children and young people who live or who have lived in a situation where there is domestic violence will have a whole range of issues that need to be dealt with. Dealing with the fear and uncertainty that will have built up over time is vital for the future well-being of all the children and young people concerned.

Safety online is a relatively new worry for adults who care for children. This course aims to give good, clear information about what the online world is, how it functions and where it might be going. The course aims to help carers understand the risks and provides advice and guidance about how to reduce these risks and dangers.
